Nickel Brook Immodest IPA

immodestNickel Brook Brewing Co. has been brewing high quality, small batch beers in Burlington Ontario Canada since 2005. BWG stumbled across this brewery on recommendation by a Canadian friend. He told us that their Immodest IPA tastes like the famously delicious Heady Topper. Needless to say, our interest was piqued, along with our scepticism. The Immodest IPA weighs in at 9% abv. and 85 ibu. It is brewed using German magnum, simcoe, and citra hops. We love the simplistic, old school labeling on the 160z. cans, each costing roughly $4. The pour is a hazy, faded orange color. The nose is beautifully effervescent with a truck load of grapefruit and citrus type flavors. The palate gives an awesome texture, it’s creamy and balanced with more loads of citrusy hops and a lean, earthy malt. It finishes with a nice rounded bite that leaves an extremely pleasant, lingering aftertaste. Nickel Book beers are only available for purchase from the brewery and from Canadian retailers – so if one finds themselves across the border, a recon of this impressively tasty brew is definitely recommended… Rating: 93/100.

One Response to Nickel Brook Immodest IPA

  1. It should be noted that the locations page on Nickelbrook’s site shows a location list for LCBO stores (provincial liquor stores in Ontario), which only carry Nickelbrook’s full-time releases such as Naughty Neighbor, Maple Porter, Headstock IPA (all very good beers). The Immodest DIPA and other small batch brews are, to my knowledge, only available direct from the Brewery in Burlington, Ontario.

    Cheers!
